Now, I like to think of myself as one of the more rational fans, especially in terms of bombarding the actors. I can totally see how they might freak out. However, having said that, there’s a difference between being easily overwhelmed/surprised and telling a reporter that you think your fans are ‘retarded’.
I don’t really care what Kristen Stewart thinks of me, whatever. But considering how well she was embraced by fans when she was cast, I have to admit she really crossed the line there. Even if MAYBE what she was saying was taking out of context, using the word ‘retarded’ in relation to Twi-fanatics whom have so openly embraced you is ONLY going to result in mobbings with pitchforks.
What did you expect? When someones favourite book is being turned into a movie, they get excited. It’s just how it is. No matter whether it’s a multi-million copy best seller like Harry Potter or Twilight, or it’s some little book like Hunting & Gathering (which is a fantastic read, just FYI). People celebrate.
I understand she didn’t realise the hype and I also understand that she may not be the kind of out going celebrity that people want her to be – fair enough. But Kristen Stewart, whilst I may not care what you say (although I was rather shocked), man you’ve really pissed off alot of people. Don’t ever bite the hand that feeds.
Man I’m curious to see what happens next… These so called ‘retarded’ fans are not to be underestimated.
There’s an interview she did, i’m not sure if it was with e, some of her words are the same with the article and interview. But she never said the word, retarded, the word wasn’t taken out of context, it was taken out of mid air. I think it was with e online, with this ben guy. The article quoted some of what she said, and fabricated others. Seriously, so many people have been crapping on her when she probably never said that.
i agree, there’s been a complete over reaction, espesh if she HAS been taken out of context (as i said in my post).
but if she did say it, very poor choice of words. very very poor choice.
I know why some people believe she could she say that. Cuz you know she’s honest and she talks how she feels. But i don’t think she could disrespect the fans like that. I understand what you’re saying though. I really hope she hasn’t been reading the horrible things people have been saying about her.
i agree, i don’t think anyone is stupid or spiteful enough to come out in and interview and say their fans are retards, cos the backlash would be insane.
however, i disagree with you on your last point, i’d like her to see the article and fan reactions – because if it is a misprint (cos the guy writing the article seemed to be really negative about the whole thing) then she needs to come out and fix it. let everyone know she’s not to be taken advantage of like that.
That’s exactly what i got! It seems like he was really negative. I would love for her to address it and clear it up, but i don’t think that’s gonna happen. Besides, it’s kinda fading now, i’m not hearing much about it. Although, i know for a fact that MANY people still have it in the back of their head.
